Sound & Playing Characteristics
The Conn 12M is famous for its huge, dark, room-filling tone with exceptional authority in the low register and a broad, vocal quality throughout the range. It excels in big band, jazz, R&B, and any setting where a powerful vintage baritone voice is desired. Compared with many modern baritones, the 12M delivers a wider, more enveloping sound that defines the classic American bari aesthetic.
Notes on the Neck Repair
The neck tenon socket replacement was completed using a new old-stock Conn-correct part, properly fitted and aligned by a qualified technician. This addresses a known wear point on vintage baritones and ensures reliable long-term performance without compromising response or seal.
