This Conn 10M tenor saxophone, serial number B351067, dates to approximately 1950 and represents Conn’s legendary post-war professional production. Commonly referred to as the “Naked Lady” due to its iconic engraving, the 10M is widely regarded as one of the most important and influential tenor saxophones ever made. This example has been relacquered and currently retains approximately 90 percent of its finish, with only minor surface scratches from careful use.

The relacquer has been evenly and cleanly applied and presents very well overall, giving the horn a bright, uniform appearance while preserving the depth and clarity of the original engraving. There are no significant dents or structural issues, and the body tube, bow, and bell remain straight and well-aligned. Cosmetic wear is limited to light surface marks and does not detract from the horn’s appearance or integrity.

Tonally, the Conn 10M is famous for its large, commanding sound – broad, warm, and powerful, with a deep low register and a flexible, expressive upper range. This example delivers the unmistakable Conn voice that made the 10M the tenor of choice for countless jazz, swing, and big band players. Response is immediate and lively, and the horn pairs exceptionally well with both modern and vintage mouthpieces.

The Conn 10M occupies a central place in American saxophone history and remains a benchmark for what a professional tenor saxophone should be. Relacquered examples from this era, such as this one, offer players access to the classic Conn sound at a more approachable price point while maintaining excellent playability and musical authority.
