This pre-war, early-production 6M represents the very best of Conn’s golden era of craftsmanship from Elkhart, Indiana. Often referred to as the Conn Artist model, the 6M “Naked Lady” is revered among professional players for its expressive tonal range, exceptional projection, and mechanical innovation.

This example is in very fine playing condition, showing moderate lacquer wear consistent with age but no dings or dents—a rarity for a pre-war horn of this vintage. The body remains structurally excellent, and the original “Naked Lady” engraving on the bell is clear and detailed. The horn retains its microtuner neck and underslung octave mechanism, both functioning smoothly.

Featuring rolled tone holes and Conn’s distinctive wide bore, this early-production 6M offers the signature full, resonant Conn sound with rich overtones and effortless response. The tone is bold and warm, capable of both lyrical subtlety and cutting projection. Its comfortable ergonomics and craftsmanship make it as inspiring to play today as when it left the factory over 90 years ago.

Features:

  • Serial #M261918A – manufactured in 1934 (pre-war, early production)
