This Buffet Crampon – Super Dynaction Tenor Saxophone – Serial #18119, was manufactured in the early 1970s. Built in France as Buffet’s flagship professional model, the Super Dynaction was designed to compete directly with Selmer’s Mark VI and remains one of the finest vintage European tenors of its era. Known for its smooth mechanics, excellent intonation, and lyrical French tone, the SDA tenor is highly regarded among players who want both projection and warmth.

This example is in very good condition, with the body clean and free of dents. The horn is now mostly unlacquered, giving it a striking raw brass appearance and tactile feel, with natural patina that many players find inspiring. Keywork is precise and ergonomic, reflecting Buffet’s attention to mechanical refinement during this period.

Sonically, the SDA tenor offers a warm, focused tone with plenty of depth in the low register and a lyrical, singing quality in the upper range. It has excellent intonation and blends French elegance with the power and presence expected from a professional horn.
