This Martin “The Martin” Baritone Saxophone, serial number 192371, is a striking example of mid-century American saxophone craftsmanship, built in 1961 during one of Martin’s finest production periods. Known for their rich, resonant tone and solid construction, “The Martin” baritones are highly regarded by jazz and concert players for their depth, clarity, and power across the full range.

This particular horn is in excellent playing condition and features beautiful lacquer with a golden hue and sharp, crisp engraving. It shows only a few very small cosmetic dents and light scratches, all of which are minor and barely noticeable, especially for a vintage baritone. Keywork is tight and responsive, and the horn plays with a full, commanding voice from top to bottom.

“The Martin” models are known for their direct, punchy tone, robust low end, and solid intonation, making them ideal for both section work and solo performance.
