A vintage Selmer Paris C★ mouthpiece for B♭ clarinet, manufactured in France and bearing the traditional Selmer wreath trademark. The Standard C★ was one of Selmer’s longstanding clarinet facings before the introduction of later lines such as the C85, CP100, Focus and Concept.

The C★ is a relatively close, controlled facing designed to provide secure response, stable intonation and a centered classical tone. It is a practical choice for concert-band, chamber and orchestral playing, as well as for a developing player seeking a better-quality traditional mouthpiece.

This example is in good used condition. The hard rubber has oxidized to a brownish color from age and exposure, with normal scratches and ligature wear. The tip and rails appear intact and reasonably even in the photographs, without an obvious chip. The tenon cork is present but shows age and may need replacement or adjustment for the best fit. No ligature or cap is included.
