WRM00061

This vintage BARI soprano saxophone mouthpiece features a 64 facing and the distinctive metal shank band found on older BARI mouthpieces. The 64 designation corresponds to a relatively open soprano facing—nominally around .064″—suited to players looking for greater volume and tonal flexibility than a conventional classical mouthpiece.

BARI hard-rubber mouthpieces are known for producing a deep, full-bodied sound with a strong lower register and stable response through the upper range. The rounded chamber and moderate baffle give this model a warm fundamental while retaining enough presence and projection for jazz, ensemble, and doubling work. Modern versions of the BARI 64 remain in production, although the metal-banded construction identifies this as an earlier example.

The mouthpiece is in good used condition, with considerable brown oxidation and surface discoloration to the hard rubber, along with normal scratches and playing wear. The tip and rails appear intact, with no obvious cracks or major chips visible in the photographs. The metal shank band shows cosmetic wear but remains securely fitted. Includes the pictured Wind & Reed storage pouch; ligature and cap are not included.
