Vintage V. Krass Chedeville Paris alto saxophone mouthpiece in hard rubber, marked size 6. This appears to be an older Chedeville Paris piece with the classic decorative band engraving and “Ch. Chedeville Paris” logo.
These vintage French Chedeville mouthpieces are prized for their warm, centered tonal character and refined classical-to-jazz crossover response. The chamber and profile are consistent with mid-century French alto mouthpiece design, offering a smooth, lyrical sound with excellent control and projection.
This example shows honest vintage wear and oxidation/patina to the hard rubber, along with visible tooth wear/patch residue on the beak from professional use. The mouthpiece remains attractive and highly playable overall.
