Out of stock
A well-preserved Beechler 6L hard rubber tenor saxophone mouthpiece, offering a less commonly seen side of the Beechler lineup. While Beechler is best known for their powerful high-baffle metal mouthpieces favored by contemporary and fusion players, their hard rubber large-chamber designs provide a markedly different playing experience – warmer, broader, and more centered in tone.
The 6L facing pairs a comfortable medium tip opening with a large chamber / lower-baffle design, producing a sound with strong fundamental body, pleasing warmth, and controlled projection. The result is a versatile tenor voice that can cover straight-ahead jazz, section work, and more lyrical playing while still retaining enough presence to cut when pushed.
This mouthpiece offers a tonal character that sits comfortably between classic vintage hard rubber designs and more modern performance-oriented pieces. Compared with Beechler’s brighter metal offerings, the 6L is significantly fuller and less aggressive, favoring tonal depth and flexibility over raw edge.
Condition is excellent overall, showing only light signs of use. The beak remains clean with a protective bite patch installed, the hard rubber has retained a deep attractive finish, and there are no obvious chips, cracks, or visible damage to the tip or rails. A very appealing option for tenor players seeking a quality hard rubber piece with warmth, focus, and uncommon Beechler character.
