This is an exceptional example of a Conn C-Melody saxophone, serial 98433, dating to approximately 1922 and preserved in very fine condition. Finished in original silver plate, this horn shows very little wear to the silver, no dents, and retains its crisp factory engraving and clean body geometry. It is a very fine surviving C-Melody from Conn’s celebrated New Wonder era, a period known for bold tonal design, rolled tone holes on many models, and professional-grade craftsmanship.

The horn includes its original vintage C-Melody mouthpiece, a rare and highly desirable accessory that dramatically improves playability, intonation, and historical authenticity. Surviving mouthpieces specific to the C-Melody are scarce, and having the matching piece elevates both musical and collector value.

Why This Horn Matters

Most surviving C-Melodies have heavy play wear, dents, or compromised plating. This example stands far above typical market offerings, with museum-grade silver, clean body geometry, and all original components. For a player seeking a historically authentic, beautifully preserved Conn, or a collector looking for an investment-grade specimen, this is exactly the type of instrument that rarely appears.

Ships in the original hard case in good, vintage condition.
